NAPPANEE – Andrew J. Chupp, 93, of Nappanee, died  unexpectedly of natural causes at 6:50 a.m. Dec. 31, 2012, in his residence.
He was born Feb. 27, 1919, in Kansas, to Joseph C.S. and Amanda Detweiler Chupp. On Dec. 30, 1947, in Nappanee, he married Clara Slabaugh, who died May 12, 1994.
He  lived most of his life in Indiana and moved to Nappanee in 1944.  He was a retired factory worker and a member of Old Order Amish Church.
Surviving are sons, Eldon and Alvin Chupp, both of Milford, and Joseph (and spouse Sue) Chupp, Elkhart; daughters, Carol (and spouse Charles) Westerman, North Webster; Fannie Mae (and spouse Mervin) Miller and Katherine (and spouse Steven) Miller, all of Goshen; Ina (and spouse Vernon) Bontrager, Nakomis, Fla.; Wilma (and spouse Lynn) Hively and Treva Chupp, all of Nappanee; and Erma (and spouse Bob) Stevens, Sarasota, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, John (and spouse Esther) Chupp, Nappanee, and Harvey (and spouse Nancy) Chupp, Eden Prairie, Minn. He was preceded in death by a grandson, six brothers and four sisters.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Darryl Hochstetler residence, 13991 N. CR 700W, Nappanee, with Bishop Howard Schwartz and Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church officiating. Burial will be in Weldy Cemetery.
Calling is after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hochstetler residence.
