COLUMBIA CITY - Amanda Lynn Gottschalk Ford, 28, of 200 Justice Road, Jacksonville, N.C., died Feb. 26, 2007, at Onslow Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville. N.C.

She was born July 21, 1978, in Columbia City, to Joseph and Connie DeLaughter Gottschalk. On July 28, 2001, she married Nicholas Adam Ford, who survives.

As a young girl, she lived in South Whitley from 1978 to 1980, and New Paris from 1980 to 1982, moving to Columbia City, where she lived from 1983 to 1997. She graduated from Columbia City High School in 1997. She graduated from Ball State University in 2001. She taught at Longfellow Elementary School, Muncie, and Jacksonville Commons Elementary School, Jacksonville, N.C. She was a former member of Trinity Evangelic Presbyterian Church, Columbia City, and a member of Tar Landing Baptist Church.

Also surviving are her parents, Joseph and Connie DeLaughter Gottschalk; a daughter, Anna Grace Ford, Jacksonville, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. Chad (Jennifer) Christman, Fort Wayne; and a grandmother, Pauline Gottschalk, South Whitley. She was preceded in death by three grandparents.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City, with Pastor Ross O'Dell officiating. Burial will be at South Park Annex Cemetery, Columbia City.

Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
