BOURBON - Allen R. Frenger, 86, of 606 N. Harris St., Bourbon, died April 20, 2008, in Life Care Center Nursing Home, Rochester.

He was born Oct. 26, 1921, in the family residence in Bremen, to Peter and Pearl Stump Frenger. On May 4, 1946, he married Monna Burcham, who survives.

Living in the Bourbon area most of his life, he was a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1985. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, serving in multiple theaters. He was a member of Bourbon American Legion Post 424, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1162 and 40-8 of Plymouth, where he served in multiple positions during his lifetime.

Also surviving are three sons, Steve Frenger and Gary (and spouse Christine) Frenger, both of Bonanza, Ore., and Peter Frenger, Rochester; a daughter, Cindi (and spouse David) Griffin, Mandeville, La.; four grandchildren: Kara (and spouse Todd) Lemler, Warsaw; Scott Frenger, Bonanza; Jennifer Griffin, Ventura, Calif.; and Lauren Griffin, Slidell, La.; a great-grandson, Jared Lemler; and a sister, Mable Frenger Stevens, Bremen.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon, with military burial rites by members of Bourbon American Legion and Plymouth VFW.
