NORTH WEBSTER – Allen L. “Al” Streby, 77, North Webster, passed away at 8:48 p.m. March 13, 2016, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born Oct. 17, 1938, in Warsaw, to Hubert L. “Lewis” and Dorothy Gertrude Burns-McBride Streby. On July 31, 1965, in Warsaw, he married Kathryn E. Carlin, who survives in North Webster.
He was a lifetime North Webster area resident, graduated in 1958 from North Webster High School and was a United States Army veteran. He retired in 2003 from Spartech (Uniroyal), Warsaw, after 37 years.
He was member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Warsaw, and honorary life member of American Legion Post 253, North Webster.
He also is survived by a daughter, Eunice Gibson, North Webster; two sons, Craig Streby, North Webster; and Eric (and spouse Gita) Streby, Warsaw; three grandchildren; and three sisters: Nancy (and spouse Larry) Swope and Jennie (and spouse Jerry) Stohler, all of North Webster, and Margaret (and spouse Paul) Karst, Pierceton. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster, with Pastor Bob Conelley of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery with military graveside rites performed by the North Webster American Legion.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
