He was born May 28, 1926, to Genevive Artz and Ernst Burd. In 1947, in Mt. Morris, he married Patricia Sweeney, who survives.
Also surviving are four children, including Sherry (and spouse Dana) Krull, Leesburg; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and two half brothers.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Finch Funeral Home, Mt. Morris.
