He was born April 29, 1936, in Detroit, Mich., to Charles W. and Mildred Reed Walls. On March 19, 1955, he married Wanda F. Morris, who survives.
He retired after 21 years from the U.S. Army in 1976, and honorably served his country twice during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the U.S. Army Medical Command Japan Group; Vietnam Veterans Association 267, Dearborn, Mich.; and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Perry, Mich. After his military career, he worked 21 years for the U.S. Postal Service in Lansing and Detroit, Mich.
Also surviving are a daughter, Sandra (and spouse Phil) Paquette, Ontario, Canada; two sons, David (and spouse Terry) Walls, Lansing, and Richard (and spouse Janet) Walls, Warsaw; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, a sister and a brother.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Mich., with military honors.
