MARION – Allen Dwight Walker, 88, Claypool, died at 1:15 a.m. June 19, 2014, in his residence.
He was born in Marion to John “Johnnie” Leroy and Vernie Margaret Spencer Walker.
He served in the Army and was a World War II veteran. He retired after 30 years of service from Cle-Mar Kartage, where he worked as a truck driver. He was a lifetime member of VFW, Post 7403 Marion, and a former member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and building race cars, where then he would race them in Anderson.
Surviving are two daughters, Brenda (and spouse Robert) Johnson, Missouri, and Rebecca Walker, Marion; two sons, William (and Nancy Daniels) Walker, Sweetser, and Larry (and spouse Sharon) Walker, LaFontaine; a sister, Loretta Griffin, Marion; two stepsons, Steven McFarren, Mentone, and Terry (and spouse Windy) McFarren, Claypool; a companion, Estella Walker, Claypool; 27 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard and Weldon Walker; three sons, Robert Walker, Lewis Walker and Allen Jr. Walker; and a daughter, Sue Richmond.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Integrity Funeral Care, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion, with Pastor Richard VanOsdol officiating. Burial will be in Van Buren Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
