PIERCETON – Allen David “Buster” Zehner, 65, Pierceton, passed away at 9:05 a.m. June 19, 2015, in North Webster.
He was born Sept. 2, 1949, in Warsaw, to Hubert Allen and Olga Lillian “Lill” Winkelman Zehner.
He graduated in 1968 from Warsaw High School and was a United States Navy veteran. He lived most of his life in the Warsaw and Pierceton area, except the years he was away for military duty. He retired from Military Sea Lift Command after 29 years of service.
He was a member of the Morris Chapel United Methodist Church, Pierceton, and enjoyed traveling, dancing and playing bingo with his mother.
Surviving are his mother, Lill Airhart, Lafayette; six sisters: Judy (and spouse Rick) Birtles, Grayling, Mich.; Karen (and spouse Ron) Morehouse, West Lafayette; Sandy (and spouse Rick) Dawson, Kingman; Tonya Letson, Lafayette; Sherrie (and spouse Steve) Read, Piermont, N.H.; and Katrina (and spouse Tom) Snyder, Chicago, Ill; two half-sisters, Ellen Shoemaker, Pierceton, and Debbie Lawson, Morristown, Tenn.; a stepmother, Caroline Harrell, Pierceton; 11 nieces and nephews; and four great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and step father, William Airhart.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Burial is at 4 p.m. in Tippecanoe Memorial Gardens, 1718 W. CR 350N, West Lafayette.
Calling is from 11 a.m to noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
