NORTH MANCHESTER - Allen C. Shook, 85, of Eastonollee, Ga., and formerly of Laketon, died Nov. 17, 2009, in his residence.

He was born May 12, 1924, in Richmond, to Ziba Allen and Grace Kimmel Shook. On Oct. 3, 1945, he married Wilma J. Cooper, who died Feb. 16, 1994.

He was an electrician with Hughes Aircraft, Tucson, Ariz.; Alcoa, Richmond; and retired from Essex Wire, Peru. He was a World War II Army Air Corp veteran. He was a member and past master of Deming Lodge 88 F&AM, and a member of American Legion, Laketon.

Surviving are two sons, Roy (and spouse Valetta) Shook, Eastonollee, Ga., and William Shook, Greenville, S.C.; three daughters: Becky (and spouse Don) Warmuth, Laketon; Elizabeth Patton, North Manchester; and Susan Shook, Wabash; 25 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.

A Masonic service will be at noon Saturday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester. Burial will be in Sharpee Cemetery, Peru, with Pastor Dan Binkley officiating.

Calling is from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
