Alice “Sylvia” Brown, 90, died at 5:35 a.m. Sept. 29, 2011, in Windsor of Ocala, Fla.

She was born Aug. 12, 1921, in Johnson County, Ky., to  James Harrison and Minta Bays Tackett. On Sept. 20, 1943, in Kentucky, she married Elois F. Brown, who died Oct. 25, 1997.

Living in Kosciusko County most of her life, she worked in quality control for Kimball Glass for 40 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Owens Illinois Club and was a Kosciusko Community Hospital Auxiliary volunteer.

Surviving are a daughter, Lynn (and spouse James) Feldman, Ocala; a son, Elois “Buck” (and spouse Joyce) Brown, Ocala; a sister, Bobbi Watkins, Bowling Green, Ky.; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Addie Frazier and Irene LeMaster, and a brother, Glenn Tackett.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Gary Boschain of First Christian Church, Warsaw.

Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
