COLUMBIA CITY – Alice Ann “Annie” Hyser, 71, of Columbia City,  died at 9:32 a.m. Sept. 14, 2011, in the emergency room at Parkview Whitley Hospital.
She was born Dec. 7, 1939, in Waynedale, to Kenneth and Alice Laier Stephens. On June 11, 1969, in Parisburg, W.Va., she married Kenneth Hyser, who died March 12, 2009.
A Whitley County resident most of her life, she graduated from Larwill High School in 1957. She  served in the U.S. Marine Corps. She worked at Weatherhead, Columbia City, for 22 years, retiring in 2006. She was a member of the American Legion, Pierceton.
Surviving are her children, Christopher (and spouse Marsha) Schrader, Pierceton; Alan (and spouse Tem) Schrader, Olympia, Wash.; Dorthea (and spouse Jeff) Arnold, South Whitley; Kenneth (and spouse Donna), Terry D., Timothy, Rodney (and spouse Torri) Hyser and Donna (and spouse Paul) Weinberg, all of Columbia City; Teresa G. (and spouse Richard) Earhart, Fort Wayne; sisters, Patricia Hasson, Louisville, Ky.; Dorothy (and spouse Larry) Plummer, Warsaw; Marta (and spouse Richard) Hawkins, South Whitley; and Jeanne (and spouse Phil) Keirn, Pierceton; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a brother, five grandchildren and her companion, Richard Cearbaugh.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 24 at Booneville Cemetery, Larwill.
No calling is planned.
DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City, is in charge of arrangements.
