Steve Alfano and the former Debbie Porter were married Nov. 1, 1969, in a small Lutheran Chapel in Terre Haute.

He retired from NIPSCO and is currently working for Pike Lumber. She is currently working for Midwest Medical Copy Service.

They have five children: Aimee (and spouse Jeff) Kozinski, Edwardsburg, Mich.; Heather (and spouse Jim) Garman, Fort Wayne; Jennie (and spouse Travis) Holcomb, Wolcottville; Scott (and spouse Mary) Alfano, West Lafayette; and Nicholas Alfano, Valparaiso; and nine grandchildren.

They will celebrate the weekend at Amish Acres and dinner with family.
