Laurel Alexander, Fort Wayne, announces the engagement of her daughter, Rachel Lea, to Andrew Joseph Achenbach. She was the daughter of the late John Alexander III and he is the son of Jodie Kinder, Mark Hefty and Chuck MacPherson, all of Fort Wayne.

The bride-to-be is a teacher with Fort Wayne Community Schools. She is a 2000 graduate of Warsaw Community High School and received her bachelor's degree in secondary English education in 2006 from IPFW.

The groom-elect is a 2000 graduate of North Side High School, Fort Wayne, received his bachelor's degree in sport marketing and management and his master's degree in sport management/athletic administration from Indiana University, Bloomington.

The couple plan a July 7 wedding.
