He retired from Weatherhead Corp., Columbia City, and later worked as foreman for the Kosciusko County Highway Dept. prior to starting the third shift at Othy. She served two terms as Kosciusko County recorder, then traveled more than eight years for the State of Indiana and the USDA as supervisor assistant in Northern Indiana school corporations. She was the organizing founder of the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary, Warsaw, and remains active after 40 years.
They have a son, Larry (and spouse Pam) Poyser; two granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren.
