SYRACUSE - Albert L. Hansen, 79, of North Webster, died at 2 a.m. Dec. 13, 2008, in Veterans Administration Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born Nov. 22, 1929, in Howard, S.D., to John and Anna Ericksen Hansen. On March 7, 1961, he married Lura E. Rose, who died in 1988.

Moving to North Webster from Portage 30 years ago, he retired from truck driving for Western Metal, Milwaukee. He was a member of North Webster American Legion Post 253 and Syracuse Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1342. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War.

Surviving are a daughter, Deborah McKnight, Hobart; a son, Dale Worthington, Birmingham, Ala.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a grandson, three brothers and five sisters.

Services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse, with Pastor Brad Cox officiating, and with military honors by members of North Webster American Legion.

Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
