COLUMBIA CITY - Alan McArthur Dixon, 65, of Pierceton, died at 6:50 p.m. May 9, 2008, at Parkview Whitley Hospital Emergency Room, Columbia City.

He was born June 12, 1942, in Lafayette, to Roscoe Francis "Bud" and Alicia Ruth Gaff Parker.

He attended Larwill High School and spent most of his lifetime in Larwill, South Whitley, Warsaw and Pierceton, where he lived at his present home for the past 30 years. He first worked at Weatherhead Co., Columbia City; Hand/Duralite, Othy, Warsaw; and he served as a foreman for the ABC Co., Nappanee. He retired from Hands Industry, Warsaw, as a maintenance and machine operator, where he continued to work part time. He was a member of the Whitley County Coon Hunters Club.

Surviving are three sons: Tracey Alan Dixon, Pierceton; Michael Alan Dixon, Warsaw; Martin Lee (and spouse Angela) Dixon, North Manchester; three brothers: William L. Parker, Larwill; Tom M. (and spouse Janice) Parker, Pierceton; and Jack (and spouse Jane) Parker, Warsaw; two sisters, Sharon (and spouse Gary) Gohlke, Carson City, Nev., and Janice Kay Andrews, Larwill; three grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a brother-in-law.

Services were at 1 p.m. today at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial was in West Etna Community Cemetery, Larwill.
