NORTH MANCHESTER - Al J. Devene, 95, Fort Wayne, formerly of North Manchester, died at 1:45 a.m. April 30, 2009 at Coventry Meadows, Fort Wayne.

He was born July 17, 1913, in Geneseo, Ill. to Edward and Sidone DeKonick Deneve. On June 7, 1936, he married Maxene Klinker wo died March 8, 2002.

He was a retired farmer having farmed in Whitley and Kosciusko counties for 45 years and was a mechanic for Deaton Equipment Sales, Claypool for 25 years. He attneded Aboite Missionary Church and First Missionary Church, both of Fort Wayne. He was a charter member, deacon and former Sunday school superintendent at Missionary Church, North Manchester.

Surviving are two daughters, Margaret (and spouse Clifford) Clouser, Estero, Fla. and Joan (and spouse Fred) Grossman, Fort Wayne. a sister, Germaine Miller, Blacklick, Ohio; four grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a brother, Frank Deneve and a sister, Laura Gershbein.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at North Manchester Missionary Church, North Manchester with Dr. John Moran officiating. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Calling is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester and one hour prior to the service at the church.
