By Staff Report-
Matthew Christopher Hoshal, 20, Pierceton, was arrested by KCSD detectives Friday at 5:55 p.m. and preliminarily charged with theft from a motor vehicle.
On Friday morning, KCSD deputies responded to various reports of thefts from vehicles east of Warsaw.
Deputies stated the unlocked vehicles had apparently been entered into overnight with various items removed. During the course of the day, patrol deputies had encountered Hoshal in the Pierceton area after responding to a report of a suspicious person. Hoshal was later determined to have items in his possession that were similar in description to items taken from one of the thefts near the area of Old 30 and CR 650E.
Hoshal was taken to the KCSD and interviewed by county detectives and subsequently confessed to at least one of the various overnight thefts.
KCSD detectives are currently investigating to see if Hoshal is connected to any of the other numerous thefts from motor vehicles that have plagued Warsaw Police Department and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department this summer.
Hoshal’s bond was set at $2,000 and is currently incarcerated at the Kosciusko County Jail. The Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office also assisted in the investigation.
