Ahmed’s Clock
Editor, Times-Union:
 Last week, 14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed built what he said was a “clock” and took it to school. Due to the questionable appearance of his “clock,” Mohamad was detained and questioned. Every time I’ve seen a device resembling this “clock,” death and destruction followed.
Right on cue, the politically correct extremists came out in droves to show their support for the kid by claiming Islamophobia.
Jonathan Gilliam spent over 17 years as a police officer, federal air marshal, private security contractor, FBI special agent and Navy Seal. He offered his thoughts on this “clock”;
On Mohamed’s detainment:
“We cannot play politically correct games when reacting to anything that may be terror related or the potential of injuring or killing people.”
Whether or not the clock resembled a bomb:
“That device (clock) resembled something that was unconventional and not understood by the teachers or law enforcement.”
How he would have approached the situation as an FBI agent:
“My response would have been exactly as the authorities in Irving, Texas, responded. I challenge anyone that was not in that circumstance to explain a better, more effective response to an unknown, unconventional device.”
If he believed it was set up like a “hoax bomb”:
“I can’t speculate on that because I’m not there to interview witnesses and the boy. What seems to be apparent is that he was willing to keep showing people until someone got alarmed. Clock or explosive, that kid or any other kid that brings something unconventional that resembles even the components of a bomb should be dealt with swift action to clear this area and triage the boy and the device.”
Former Community Organizer Barack Hussein Obama had a slightly different approach on the situation:
“Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It’s what makes America great.”
In 2013 a 7-year-old elementary student made his pop tart into the shape of a gun and was suspended. Two years later a 14-year-old high schooler takes a fake bomb odd-looking “clock” to school and receives an invitation to the White House.
If I had to place my trust in the judgment of Jonathan Gilliam or Barack Obama with regards to the safety and security of United States citizens, the former police officer, federal air marshal, private security contractor, FBI special agent and Navy Seal gets the nod over the former community organizer without question.
One-time Obama voters should be embarrassed. Two-time Obama voters should be so ashamed they voluntarily exile themselves and permanently retire from exercising judgment.
