Jonas! Jonas Clark! Is there someone like you still out there?
Remember Jonas? He was pastor of he church in Lexington, Mass., from which "the shot heard around the world" marked the beginning of our revolution against the tyranny of England's king. Many members of Clark's congregation were killed that fateful day only yards away from their church. In anguish, Pastor Jonas spoke these historic words, "From this day will be dated the liberty of the world."
Presently, following several years of tyrannical rule by the current USA regime including Congress, all of whom like England's king of 1775, do not represent "we the people." Thousands of legislative pages (most not ever read) have been speedily and secretly passed by Congress and more quickly signed into law by President Obama. The total debt and effect of these dictators place incomprehensible financial and unimaginable other burdens on generations yet unborn.[[In-content Ad]]Tragically, most Christians and their pastors remain silent. Feared losses of funds and membership for violating government's 501(c)3 rules regarding non-profit organizations is the probable reason. Could it be government is feared more than God?
In 2000 AD from pulpits across our country, President Clinton, Al Gore and many black pastors urged blacks to vote the democrat ticket. Ninety-three percent of blacks did so. Illegalities don't stop dem-liberals. Such laws never apply to them because dem-libs are always right while we "conserves" usually wrong. Adding insult to injury, Rev. Jesse Jackson added that it was proper to break the law for a "righteous" cause. This "cause" was to get dem-Democrats elected.
These "righteous causes" allow liberal pastors everywhere to use their pulpits to support a woman's pro-choice rights, homosexual marriage and "social justice" as President Obama's pastor Jeremiah Wright defined it as redistributing, i.e. government taking from "the haves" and giving to the "have-nots." It's also always open season from any pulpit to blast the likes of Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, etc. Such sermons will guarantee the praise of liberal academia, media and socialists of every stripe.
If the cause is a biblical one, using the pulpit to educate and promote truly righteous goals must always be permissible regardless of IRS laws. Consider, for example, the President's positions regarding a woman's right to abort her pre-born or partial-born baby. Consider also Obama's plans regarding homosexuality including homosexual marriage. According to God's word, the former (abortion) is murder and the latter. Both are prohibited by the Holy Word.
Christian leaders and pastors in obedience to God's law must speak out from pulpits and everywhere against such abominations educating all people regarding these and other similar sins from a biblical perspective. Some sermons on 1 Samuel 8 and Romans 13 would be excellent starting points before all pulpits disappear.
Thankfully, there remains a remnant of conservative voices like Sarah, Glenn, Rush and others like them all brave enough to put their own lives at risk on the front lines as martyrs, if necessary, have done throughout all ages. These brave souls, using their God-given talent in printed and spoken word proclaim truths of our great country's past and present as well as origins of the laws and rights given to us by our Creator and Redeemer, God. Thank you Lord for the spirit of Jonas Clark remains!
