African Turmoil

In Saturday’s Times-Union, there was an article about the tragedy in the Central African Republic where I was a missionary for 35 years.
The news media have been mistakenly calling the anti-Selekas the Christian militia. They are in no way Christian, they are Anamists. They are gearing up for a final battle.
Despair is rooting itself deeper in the hearts of a people who see nothing good that the future can bring. The wars in the Middle East, ongoing financial crises, the ebola outbreak in west Africa, violence in other parts of the world-all these are enough to draw attention away from the tragedy in the Central African Republic.
But may God call you to stand with us in prayer. By God’s grace this country will rise from the ashes and will be used for the advancement of God’s Kingdom. He will always have the last word.
