Adult Video

I heard from a friend regarding the new Family Video in downtown Warsaw that she thought there was an adult-only section, but she was not sure. I just went and visited to find out for myself and, yes, there is an adult-only section for those 18 years and older. Sure, it is hidden behind the regular video section, but it is most definitely there. One cannot help but look up and see in bold, white letters "adult".

I did not try to venture through the door of this adult-only section, but I would assume that it would not be locked. There were no staff watching the door to make sure that only those 18 years and older enter. Maybe there was an employee on the other side of the door to make sure only the old enough enter.

The way I saw it, however, anyone (whether they be 18 or 9) could easily wander his or her way back there and take a peek. Even if only the old enough do enter that room, my point is that this video store is called "Family Video." I would assume that this would mean family-friendly. In my view, though, along with the view of my own family, having an adult-only section is anything but family-friendly.

Pornographic material was pushed out of Warsaw several years ago and now it is back. OK, maybe what they have in there is not specifically called pornography, but that is what it is. Exposing ourselves to such evils is what breaks up the family and makes the family not a family anymore. The evil of adult videos is what leads to divorce, poverty, high school dropouts, crime and more. By having an adult-only section, this store is anything but a family video store.

If you care about your family, this community, your church, your friends, your school I would ask you not to patronize this store. Thank you.
