She is the daughter of Michael and Patricia Helton, Warsaw, and he is the son of Russell and Sandra Adams, North Webster.
She graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 2001, and Grace College in 2006 and Indiana Wesleyan University in 2015. She is a special education teacher, and previously taught at North Miami Schools, Denver. He graduated from Wawasee Community Schools, Syracuse, in 1995.
