Adams Elected Clerk-Treasurer in Winona Lake

Adams, who was unopposed in the election, will replace Retha Hicks, who has served as the town’s clerk-treasurer since 1993.
Adams served 16 years as a member of the Indiana General Assembly, four years as Kosciusko County treasurer, and 16 years as chief financial officer in area school corporations. He is serving his fourth year on the Warsaw School Board.
“Thank you to the voters for their confidence in me. Winona Lake has a great history and legacy and I look forward to working with the town council and respective departments in serving our local citizens,” Adams said.
“We take very seriously our duty and responsibility in serving the public trust and invite all into our office at any time.”
Philip Hood was unopposed for the Winona Lake Ward 1 seat. He replaces Joy Lohse, who did not seek re-election.
“I’d like to thank the citizens of Winona Lake for this opportunity to serve the town,” Hood said.
“I will do my utmost to continue to provide its residents with the services currently provided as well as prosperity for the future.”
Winona Town Council Ward 2 winner John Boal said he is looking forward to serving. Boal previously served in 2003 and 2004 on the council. Boal was unopposed. Boal replaces Terry Howie on the town council.
“I am excited about this opportunity to serve the people of Winona Lake and am looking forward to the next four years,” Boal said.
Boal said Winona Lake is a great place to work, play and raise a family and thanked the voters who elected him.
Bruce Shaffner was re-elected to serve on the Ward 3 city council seat.
“I just wanted to thank all of the voters who came out and voted,” Shaffner said.
“As I said in my campaign I am here to represent you and any questions or concerns that you may have, feel free to contact me.”
Shaffner thanked the voters for the support and encouragement that they gave him, and said he looks forward to serving residents during his next term.
Greg Winn, Ward 4 winner, was unopposed and will replace Sue Gooding.
“I am honored that the people of Winona Lake elected me for this position and I'm looking forward to working with the staff and volunteers of Winona Lake,” Winn said.
“I hope that we can continue to strengthen and improve our community.”
Randy Swanson defeated Democrat Ron Shavers for the Ward 5 seat.
“I am pleased and honored to be elected to represent the people of Winona Lake on the town council over the next 4 years,” Swanson said.
“I look forward to working with the other council members, clerk-treasurer and town manager.”
Swanson said he will do his best to thoughtfully consider the important issues coming before the council, and work to implement more efficient local government.[[In-content Ad]]
