A man injured in a Friday morning accident remains in critical condition at a Fort Wayne hospital.
Police still haven't identified the driver of the vehicle in which James Hale, 24, of Warsaw, was found unconscious in the back seat. Hale suffered head and internal injuries in the accident and was transferred from Kosciusko Community Hospital to Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, where he has been in critical condition since being admitted Friday.
Due to the severity of Hale's injuries, officials attempted to have Hale airlifted to Fort Wayne, but fog prevented the helicopter ambulance from taking off and he was transported by ground ambulance.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department happened upon the scene of the accident on CR 500S, between CRs 400E and 500E, while responding to a call of a possible prowler in the area.
A resident of CR 500S reportedly saw someone walking around her home at about 4:20 a.m. Friday. Police believe that one or two other occupants of the car left the accident scene on foot.
The car Hale was in had struck a utility pole along the road. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the sheriff's department at 267-5667. [[In-content Ad]]
