Preliminary findings in the autopsy Monday on the body of 5-year-old Michelle Baggs revealed that the child's death was accidental.

Kosciusko County Coroner Larry Ladd said Tuesday that although the toxicology reports will not be available for about 10 days, he doesn't anticipate anything negative coming back.

"At this point, there is nothing to lead us to believe that it's anything but accidental," Ladd said. "It was purely an accidental hanging ... two children playing."

The Etna Green girl was found Sunday morning hanging by a bathrobe belt from a play structure in a bedroom of her home, where she and a younger child were playing.

Ladd said that the children's mother had taken the belt away from them twice - once the day before the accident and once earlier that morning. The children were apparently pretending that one was a dog and the other was leading her around. The child still had the belt around her neck when she became caught on the play structure and accidentally hanged herself. [[In-content Ad]]
