A fourth arrest linked to the New Year's Eve armed robbery of Syracuse Pizza Hut was made by Kosciusko County Drug Task Force Thursday.
On Dec. 31, Ryan Kennelley, 17, Syracuse, Nicholas Ashkins, 16, South Whitley, and Robert Lafollette III, Warsaw, allegedly robbed Pizza Hut at gunpoint, forcing nine employees into a freezer and fleeing with $3,400 cash. Police believe the boys committed the robbery to pay off drug debts to unknown dealers.
After receiving information from confidential informants relating illegal drugs to the crime, the task force became involved, acting on information that the boys' gun was in the possession of an alleged local drug dealer.
Police searched the home of Larry Angiano, 38, of 5895 S.E. Channel Road, Warsaw, and found the illegal weapon and nine other guns. More than a pound of marijuana also was found at the residence.
Angiano was arrested and preliminarily charged with dealing marijuana, possession of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance.
He reportedly purchased the gun from the boys for $200 after the robbery.
Police also arrested two other men at the Angiano residence on unrelated outstanding warrants.
Police are not yet sure how the weapons in Angiano's possession were obtained. Serial numbers have not yet been checked to determine whether or not the weapons were stolen.
Police remind citizens to record all serial numbers for weapons and other expensive items in case of theft. [[In-content Ad]]
