The event is scheduled for July 25 from 1 to 6 p.m. in the DePuy parking lot.
The cost to register a car, truck or motorcycle for the show is $10 and pre-registration by Thursday is $5.
Registration for the show begins at noon July 25 at DePuy. A motorcycle ride begins at 3 p.m. with financial contributions being accepted from those who are participating that will go toward purchasing items for care packages for troops.
"We had such a great response last year with the motorcycles being added that we are definitely continuing to include them this year," said Rhonda Elliott, Midas manager and event coordinator.
All proceeds from the car show go toward shipping costs for care packages for deployed troops.
"The car show is our big fundraiser to help with the shipping costs and we are super excited each year," Elliott said.
Dash plaques will be given to the first 100 entries, and trophies will be awarded for the top 50 cars, trucks and motorcycles. There also will be a 50/50 drawing, door prizes donated by local area merchants and commemorative t-shirts available.
Elliott said the show will give participants an opportunity to view and display show-quality vehicles.
Since April 2007, more than 600 packages have been sent to local troops serving overseas, according to Elliott.
The items for care packages are donated by the community, and there are currently 10 recipients on the list.[[In-content Ad]]Service members who have received care packages has varied from one person in the beginning, to as many as 62 at one time. These are all military persons with local ties who receive the care packages.
People who have a name and address of a deployed military person they would like to add to the care package program can contact Elliott at Midas at 574-269-4545.
