39th Annual Tri-State Bluegrass Festival Set For May 21-24

Sponsored by the Northern Indiana Bluegrass Association, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, this weekend is for families. In addition to the stage shows, there is music around the camp fires, day and night, and pickers are welcome to join in.
There are three large covered areas at the stage, and concession stands with a variety of food, novelties, compact discs and more. Limited bleacher seating is available, so lawn chairs (low-back only) are suggested. Limited parking for persons with disabilities is reserved near the stage area. Taxi golf carts are available for shuttling between the parking lot and stage area during music hours.
Headlined by the award-winning Gibson Brothers, along with 11 other national, regional and local bands from seven states from Wisconsin to West Virginia, they will perform more than 29 hours of acoustic music on an outdoor stage Thursday through Sunday. The show is rain or shine.
Other attractions on the grounds are: May 2, 4-H fundraising dinner, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.; May 23, Kids’ Korner various projects, in-depth workshops and band scramble.
Performing bands will include Gibson Brothers, Echo Valley, Kenny Stinson & Perfect Tym’n, Rick Prater & Midnight Travelers, Zellies’ Band, Cornfields & Crossroads, Band Scramble, Cedar Hill, Kevin Prater Band, Rachel Burge & Blue Dawning, Trinity River, New County Grass, Suzuki Fiddlers and Sun Morning Gospel Sing.
Show times are: May 21, 6:30 to 9:50 p.m.; May 22, 6 to 10:30 p.m.; May 23, 11 a.m. to 10:45 p.m.; May 24, 10:30 a.m. to 10:15 p.m.
Combination tickets are $30. Camping is included Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Electric and water is $10 one time extra, and camping prior to May 22 is $10 per night.
Daily prices are, Thursday: free drive-in show; 4-H Club dinner at 4:30 p.m., donation; Friday: $10; Saturday: $20; and Sunday: $15. Children 15 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.
