2nd Amendment Rights

On March 9, 2011, while serving in the Wisconsin Senate, I received the following e-mail: “ … I as well as many others know where you and your family live … We have all planned to assault (sic) you by arriving at your house and putting a nice little bullet in your head ...”
At that time protestors enraged by the collective bargaining bill under consideration in the legislature amassed in the capitol, in the streets and even gathered outside my home on two occasions. At that time it was illegal to carry a concealed weapon for self defense.
I am relating all of this to remind people to not take our Second Amendment rights for granted. We must be ever mindful of who we send to serve in government.
Curt Nisly, Republican nominee for state representative in District 22, has been endorsed by the Gun Owners of America and the National Rifle Association. In contrast, Nisly’s Democrat opponent has stated “ ... If rated by the GOA I would fail.” (Times-Union 4/25/14).
Early voting starts Oct. 7. Whether voting early or on Nov. 4, choose wisely, vote Nisly!
