By Staff Report-

FORT WAYNE – The 27th Annual After Dark and Babylon AIDS Benefit will be from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. June 25 at 112 E. Masterson Ave., Fort Wayne.
Twenty-seven years ago, After Dark held its first AIDS Benefit to raise money and awareness on the AIDS crisis affecting the gay community. Proceeds from the first event supported The Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) to help find a cure for AIDS.
Over the years, the AIDS Benefit became more of a communitywide event and helped raise money for local AIDS organizations including the Community AIDS Action Team through Up the Stairs Community Center and the AIDS Task Force, which serves 11 Northeast Indiana counties including Kosciusko County. Since the first benefit, After Dark has raised over $900,000 for HIV and AIDS in the community.
In keeping with its tradition, proceeds from the After Dark/Babylon AIDS Benefit will support programs and services of the Northeast Indiana Positive Resource Connection, formerly AIDS Task Force.
The 27th Annual AIDS Benefit will be June 25 at After Dark/ Babylon, 112 E. Masterson Ave., Fort Wayne, with doors opening at 6 p.m. A live auction will begin at 9:30 p.m. and this year’s auction items include a Drone, 40” Smart TV, baskets and more. The evening also will include appetizers by Calhoun Street Soups, Salads and Spirits and after the live auction, After Dark/Babylon’s entertainers will perform until closing. Tula, the Grand Empress of Fort Wayne, will be hosting this year’s event.
