12 Vie For Royalty At County Fair

There are seven 4-H Queen candidates and five 4-H King candidates this year. The court will be named during the Kosciusko County Fashion Revue July 15 at 7 p.m. in Wawasee High School auditorium.
Candidates, who participate on a voluntary basis, are eligible based on the number of points they have in 4-H, and must be in their eighth, ninth or 10th year of participation.
The court is selected from the top 10 male and top 10 female point earners. Points are accumulated through project completion, serving as a club officer and community service for the club, among other things.
This year's king candidates are:
• Scot Goon, 18, Warsaw, is the son of Jon and Tina Goon. The 10-year 4-H member belongs to the Atwood Neverquitters and is a 2004 graduate of Warsaw Community High School. He plans to attend the University of Northwestern Ohio.
• Jeremy Schroeder, 19, Warsaw, is the son of Othmar and Debra Schroeder. The 10-year 4-H member belongs to the Kosciusko County 4-H Goat and Junior Leader clubs. He attends Purdue University.
• Bradley Clayton, 18, North Webster, is the son of Ed and Judy Clayton. The 10-year 4-H member belongs to the Wee Webster Workers and the Kosciusko County 4-H Rabbit Club. He is a 2004 Wawasee High School graduate, and plans to attend Oklahoma State University in the fall.
• Justin Schroeder, 16, Warsaw, is the son of Othmar and Debra Schroeder. The eight-year 4-H member belongs to the Kosciusko County 4-H Goat and Junior Leader clubs. He attends WCHS.
• Eric Camden, 18, Pierceton, is the son of John and Vicki Camden. The 10-year 4-H member belongs to the Pierceton Hayseeds. He attends Whitko High School.

• Kara M. Anderson, 18, is the daughter of Dennis and Mary Anderson. The nine-year 4-H member belongs to Burket Country Neighbors and Kosciusko County Junior Leaders. The Tippecanoe Valley High School graduate plans to attend Vincennes University.
• Sara Banghart, 16, Syracuse, is the daughter of Stewart and Beth Banghart. The eight-year 4-H member belongs to the Milford Helping Hands. She attends WHS.
• Hayley Wertenberger, 18, Claypool, is the daughter of Mike and Jill Wertenberger. The 10-year 4-H member belongs to Silver Lake Rambling Farmers. She is a WCHS student.
• Erin Kantz, 16, Milford, is the daughter of Larry and Kate Kantz. The eight-year 4-H member belongs to Milford Helping Hands. She is homeschooled.
• Heather Cumberland, 18, Akron, is the daughter of Greg and Jackie Cumberland. The 10-year 4-H member belongs to Beaver Dam Better 4-Hers. The TVHS graduate plans to attend Indiana State University.
