The meetings, dubbed “State of School Meeting,” will be at 7 p.m. Jan. 23 and 1 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Triton Junior-Senior High School auditorium.
“Our intent is to keep our community aware of financial and educational issues that are facing Triton,” Superintendent Donna Burroughs said in a statement. “Several area schools are looking at referendums, and we've heard our citizens are wondering about the situation at Triton, so this meeting will update our community on our financial status.”
Burroughs mentioned the need for a new roof at the school, a new heating system for the elementary and repairs to the old Bourbon gym.
“There are various ways we could approach this, so we're looking to the community for input since facility needs are addressed through local property taxes,” she said.
