BOURBON — Dale E. Ellinger, 75, Bourbon, passed away on Dec. 22, 2016, in Signature Health Care, Bremen. 
He was born Feb. 7, 1941, to Jess and Pansy Sitez Ellinger in Harrison Township, St. Joseph County.
He was a lifelong member of the area and a member of Bourbon First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed repairing lawn mowers and woodworking, making crafts to sell at craft shows. 
He was a graduate of Bourbon High School, class of 1959. After graduation he worked at Breeding Farm Equipment, Allis Chalmers and spent 25 years working as a mechanic for the Marshall County Highway Department, where he retired. He will be greatly missed by all.
He married Sandra K. Metheny on July 14, 1963. She survives along with a daughter, Amy (spouse Ed) Wogoman, Goshen; and two sons, Cory Ellinger, Argos, and Skyler Ellinger, Royal Center. He was blessed with three grandchildren: Aubrey Wogoman, Peyton Ellinger and Caleb Ellinger; and a sister, Mary Jane Smith, and a sister-in-law, Barb Ellinger, both of Florida. 
He was preceded by his parents; a son, Jeff Ellinger, Feb. 19, 2015; and three brothers: Robert and Bill Ellinger and infant brother Franklin.
A celebration of Dale’s life is being planned.
Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
