FORT WAYNE — Lou Ann Merkler, 64, passed away Dec. 25, 2016, at her home in Warsaw. 
Born in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Beaver. 
She earned an associate degree in business from Indiana Purdue University Fort Wayne. She worked for Lincoln Life for 41 years prior to her retirement. 
She absolutely loved "Lake Life." She enjoyed spending time with her close friend Kay Schoeff and getting together with the "Fab Five" ladies from her working years at Lincoln. She loved her family and cherished her grandchildren. 
Surviving are her husband of 41 years, David, Warsaw; children, Joe (spouse Melissa) Merkler, Spencerville; John (spouse Alycia) Merkler, Fort Wayne; and Sara Merkler, Warsaw; grandchildren: Tyler, Kerrington, Ryan, Noah, Ayden, Ella, Elijah and Grace; a brother, Mike (spouse Renee) Beaver, North Webster; and her beloved dog, Oscar. 
She was preceded by a grandson, Gabriel Merkler. 
A service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 917 W. Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Pastor Thomas Eggold will officiate. 
Calling will also be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. 
Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne.
