Duane Austin Kemper, 81, Warsaw, passed away at 2:25 p.m. Dec. 20, 2016, in his residence.
On May 3, 1935, he was born in Ladysmith, Wis., to Karl and Mary E. Oungst Kemper. He was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Owen on Aug. 30, 1980, in Winona Lake. She survives.
Living most of his life in Kosciusko County, he worked for Ferguson Farms and then Cardinal Center in the janitorial department, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Winona Lake Free Methodist Church and Warsaw New Harvest Church of the Nazarene. 
He was an avid fan of the World Champion Chicago Cubs.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Kemper, Warsaw; three sisters, Allegra (spouse Thomas) Simpson, North Chili, N.Y.; Mertie (spouse Charles) Karafa, Clio, Mich.; and Carolyn (spouse Paul) Northrup, Valatie, N.Y.; and several nephews and nieces. 
He was preceded by his parents and a nephew, Jonathan Duane Karafa.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Bill Keen officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral chapel.
