Warriors 2nd, Squires 4th At Wawasee Duals Tourney

The Warriors were 3-1 in the tourney, falling 46-29 to Northridge in the first round, then beating Plymouth 39-27, Angola 38-28 and Manchester 48-36.
Ricardo Romo, Braxton Alexander, Germia Brooks and Raymon Torres went unbeaten on the day.
The Squires were 2-3 on the day. They beat Three Rivers Conference rival Rochester 51-29 in the opening round, and finished 7-1 in conference duals in the process. Manchester then fell 54-21 to Angola, beat John Glenn 66-17, and fell 55-15 to Northridge before dropping its final match to Wawasee.
Delton Moore was 5-0, Quentin Moore went 4-1, and Jackson Mathias, Collin Meggison, Andrew Cagle and Juan Ramirez went 3-2.
Wawasee improved to 20-6 overall in dual meets, and will next compete against NorthWood in Nappanee on Jan. 5. Manchester will compete in the McKee Memorial Invitational in Rochester on Friday.
Lady Warrior Duo 3rd
LAPORTE – Wawasee’s Reagan Atwood and Jada Parzygnot teamed to record an all-round score of 35.00 and finished third in the LaPorte Pairs gymnastics tournament Saturday.
Alyssa Minnix and Aundreya Wegener put together a score of 31.850, good for eighth place. Katelyn Baker and Katie Haines were 12th with a 30.250, and the duo of Haleigh Smarr and Autumn Yoder finished 15th with a score of 29.750.
Up next for Wawasee is the Elkhart Central Invitational on Dec. 28.
Area Postponements
Most of the athletic events scheduled for Saturday were postponed, and some events for today have also been postponed due to the extreme weather. Here is a list of events and, when available, the make-up dates:
Wawasee and Warsaw’s girls basketball game in Knightstown Saturday was cancelled. Rescheduling information has not been received in the newsroom. The junior varsity contest scheduled for tonight will now be played on the same date when the varsity game is made up.
The Three Rivers Conference girls basketball showdown between 3A No. 7 Tippecanoe Valley and 2A No. 1 Whitko was moved from Saturday to 7:45 p.m. Jan. 19 in South Whitley.
Triton’s home girls basketball game with Hoosier North Athletic Conference rival Pioneer was moved to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 26.
Warsaw’s boys basketball game at Crown Point was postponed on Saturday, and a make-up date is to be determined.
Saturday’s Manchester home boys basketball game with Leo will be rescheduled.
Lakeland Christian’s boys and girls teams were to play in a tournament at Bethany Christian Saturday, but it was postponed. A make-up date has not been set.
Warsaw’s swimming teams were to compete in an invitational meet in Zionsville on Saturday. That meet was cancelled.
