A Pierceton woman is facing charges after police say she started a fire in her kitchen sink after an argument.
Twila Dawn Zenta, 51, of 9567 E. Adams Road, Pierceton, is charged with one count of arson, a level 6 felony and criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor.
Pierceton Fire Department and Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputy Christopher Anderson responded to a fire alarm at Zenta’s residence on Dec. 3, according to a probable cause affidavit filed with the Kosciusko County Prosector’s Office.
The fire department found the fire started in the kitchen sink and was arson. Anderson found phone books, miscellaneous papers, a hammer, vehicle titles and  pieces of broken tail lights that had been set on fire in the residence. Anderson was able to match the broken trail lights to a red Pontiac Firebird outside the home.
The homeowner arrived and told police that the car belonged to him and he had left the home due to an argument with Zenta.
The homeowner provided security camera footage to Anderson, which shows Zenta starting the fire in her kitchen sink, the affidavit states.
The damage to the car was estimated at $1,000, the affidavit states. The damage from the fire inside the house also was estimated at $1,000.
Zenta was arrested and booked into  to the Kosciusko?County Jail. She has since been released.
