Norman Allen Gunsolley, Winona Lake, passed away at 6:39 a.m. Dec. 12, 2016, at Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake, at the age of 72 after a four-month battle with cancer. 
He graduated from high school in 1962 in Columbus, Neb. In 1966 he received his bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Trinity College, Deerfield, Ill., and earned his master’s degree in school administration from the University of South Dakota in 1970. 
Before retiring in 2012, Norman had a 46-year career in education. He had a passion for Christian education and began his career with schools in Illinois. Later he started Community Christian School in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and worked there for 10 years until moving to Kosciusko County in 1987. The last 25 years of his career were spent as the administrator at Warsaw Christian School. He was a former member of the International Association of Christian Schools. 
He was an active member of Community Grace Brethren Church of Warsaw and served as an elder, deacon and Sunday school teacher. He loved the Lord with all of his heart, soul and mind. He enjoyed camping, gardening, feeding and watching birds, and reading and studying his Bible. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing games and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
He was born Jan. 21, 1944, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Earl Thomas and Marian Frances Cain Gunsolley; she survives in Stanton, Neb. On June 11, 1966, he married Mary Lou Beddoe, who survives in Winona Lake. 
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife and mother, as well as his four daughters: Michelle (fiancé Tim Grusenmeyer), Fort Wayne; Kristine (husband Eric) Bowling, West Chicago; Janelle (husband Aaron) Turner, Winona Lake; and Lisa (husband Paul) Greunke, Omaha, Neb.; and 11 grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Ronald (wife Joanne) Gunsolley, Marquette, Kan., and Timothy (wife Beth) Gunsolley, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and his sister: Susanne Kment, Stanton, Neb. He was preceded by his father. 
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 Friday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. 
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Community Grace Brethren Church, 909 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor Roy Chapin. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
