Walter Lee Stafford, 69, Warsaw, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Dec. 2, 2016, in his residence. 
He was born July 28, 1947, to Walter Buford and Lola C. Scott Stafford in Double Springs, Tenn.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1966 to 1969 during the Vietnam War.
He was united in marriage on June 7, 1977, to Maxine Slone in Clintwood, Va. 
He was a maintenance man for Prairie View Nursing Home, and he also was a security guard for DePuy.
He is survived by a sister-in-law, Phyllis Carey, Warsaw; and a brother-in-law, Lonnie (spouse Belinda) Slone, Clunette. He is also survived by his cat, A.J. 
He was preceded by his parents and his wife, Maxine Stafford.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Oakwood Cemetery, with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 49 and VFW Post 1126.
Arrangements were entrusted to McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
