BOURBON – Grant Johnson narrowly missed a double-double, scoring a game-high 23 points and gathering nine rebounds in Triton’s 79-38 rout of South Bend Career Academy in the Trojan Trench Tuesday night It was Triton’s first win of the season.
Zac Pitney had 15 points and Adam Stevens hit four three-point shots for 12 points.
After leading 20-13 at the end of the first quarter, Triton outscored the visiting Trailblazers 22-2 in the second period to secure the win.
In the junior varsity game, Triton bolted to a 26-0 lead at the end of the first period and rolled to an easy 72-8 win. four Trojans reached double figures in scoring, led by Jared Bules with 14. Delano Shumpert had 13, Ethan Berry 12 and Tye Orsund 11 for Triton.
The Trojans (1-3) open Hoosier North Athletic conference play Friday at Pioneer.
