She was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 47 years. She and her husband, Al, were the first houseparents for Riverwood Ranch.
She worked as an accountant for Herald Bookstore and was the controller at WRSW radio station for a number of years. She was chief financial officer for Multi-Township Emergency Medical Services, Warsaw, for over 10 years.
She was a longtime board member of the Multi-Township EMS of Kosciusko County, a member of the Winona Lake Town Council for a number of years, as well as a past board member at Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake.
She attended Warsaw Community Church for many years and will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was born Nov. 3, 1940, in Indianapolis, to Mary Rachael Barlow Carpenter and Wallace Paul Carpenter. On May 15, 1958, she was married to Allan “Al” Disbro, who survives in Winona Lake.
Along with her husband, she will be lovingly remembered by two daughters, Doni (husband Mike) Speigle and Rebecca (husband Wes) Anglin, both of Warsaw; a son, Jay (wife Jaymme) Disbro, Warsaw; and three grandsons: Knik Disbro, Zakk Moreno and Eli Anglin.
She was preceded by her parents and one brother.
No visitation is planned. A private graveside service is planned at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, and will be officiated by the Rev. Tom Miller.
