He was born Sept. 13, 1925, in Warsaw, to John and Helen Bechakas Klondaris. On Sept. 12, 1948, he was married to Martha Cox, who survives in Warsaw.
He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, where he was a 1943 graduate of Warsaw High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1945.
He attended Indiana University and graduated with a business degree in 1949. He joined the family restaurant, the Humpty Dumpty, and worked there until 1956. For the past 60 years he was an integral part of Cox Studio in Warsaw.
He was a member of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, a past president and lifetime member of the Warsaw Rotary Club, and served on many community organizations in different capacities throughout his lifetime.
He loved his country, community, church and above all his family.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his son, Michael Klondaris (spouse Lena Fermbeck), Warsaw; and two daughters, Cindy (husband Doug) Hampton, Warsaw, and Kristine “Kacy” (husband Thomas) Arnold, Silver Lake. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Kristine Jones Davis (husband Clint), Natalie Jones Cole (husband Josh), and Kristofer and Hanna Klondaris; and five great-grandchildren: Jack, Rhett, Annie, Campbell and Luke.
He was preceded by his parents.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw
A funeral is planned for 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Dr. Erik Ohman officiating.
A private burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, with military rites conducted by American Legion Post 49 and VFW 1126, both of Warsaw.
