He was born May 5, 1929, to Clarence S. and Martha M. Gumm Doll in Rock Island, Ill. Both preceded him in death. On Oct. 14, 1961, he married Sally J. Thomas, who survives.
He served our country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict.
He graduated from United Township High School, East Moline, Ill. He then attended the University of Mississippi and graduated from Ohio State University.
He was a member of Sigma Nu social fraternity, Phi Eta Sigma scholastic honorary fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi professional business fraternity and the Cosmopolitan Club of Springfield, Ill.
He served as a director of Lake Tippecanoe Property Owners Association for over 25 years. He was awarded the Distinguished Lake Tippecanoe Honoree 2009. He retired from the National Gypsum Co. as national accounts zone manager.
He is also survived by two sons, Boyd T. Doll and John C. Doll, Lake Tippecanoe; a daughter, Kathleen Doll-Noblitt, Columbus, Ga.; and seven grandchildren: Eric Doll, Mark Doll, Samantha Doll, Sarah Noblitt, Jack Doll, John Noblitt and David Noblitt.
A graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with Chaplain Mark Fishburn officiating and military honors provided by American Legion Post 49 and VFW Post 1126, Warsaw.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
