LAKEVILLE – Triton’s Courtney Jennings hit a three-pointer late in overtime to give the Lady Trojans the lead. But LaVille’s Nina Sajdak hit a shot with 1.7 seconds left, her only points in the game, to give the Lady Lancers a 37-36 win in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference girls basketball opener for both teams Wednesday night.
Hannah Wanemacher led Triton with 10 points. Nicole Sechrist had six points, and Charlotte Morris and Kaitlin Bailey contributed four points each.
The junior varsity contest went to Triton 41-21 over LaVille. Abigail Powell had 12 points to pace the Lady Trojans.
Triton fell to 1-8 overall and 0-1 in the HNAC. The Lady Trojans will travel to Knox for a conference game Saturday.
