FORT WAYNE – Visiting Warsaw won a four-set volleyball match 25-18, 20-25, 25-17, 25-16 at Homestead Monday night.
Nikki Parrett had 13 kills, three aces, three digs and a block for the Lady Tigers. Alexie Day added 13 kills, 15 digs, a pair of aces and a block. Hanna Leach was credited with 12 kills and two blocks, while Erin Peugh had 20 digs and four aces on the night.
The Warsaw junior varsity needed three sets to beat Homestead 25-18, 22-25, 15-8. Emma Gelbaugh and Cassadi Colbert had five kills each, with Gelbaugh adding four aces, Amy Herendeen 15 digs, and Addie Dickeroff 32 assists.
Warsaw (4-3) is off until Saturday when it will play in the Mishawaka Invitational.

Wawasee Takes First Win
LAGRANGE – Visiting Wawasee claimed its first volleyball win of the season in four sets,  25-13, 17-25, 25-17, 25-16 at Lakeland Monday evening.
Madi Wilson had 20 digs, and Seaquinn Bright added 16 more for Wawasee. Hannah-Marie Lamle had seven kills, and Brooke Heche and Olivia Clouse had four aces each.
“The girls fought for the win, and emerged on top.     I‘m very proud of the players who stepped up in this match, and I’m looking forward to our next contest,” head coach Kayla Ripotella said.
The Wawasee junior varsity also won in two sets with identical 25-8 scores. Leia Munn and Faith Swihart had nine and eight aces, respectively, and Janae Hapner added five kills.
The Lady Warriors host Central Noble at 7 p.m. today.

Wildcat Tennis Falls
SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko’s Bailey Platt came back from a set down to win his singles match, giving the Wildcats their lone victory in a 4-1 non-conference boys tennis loss to Columbia City Monday.
Whitko is off until Aug. 30 when it will travel to Syracuse and take on Wawasee.

Squires Down ‘Busco
CHURUBUSCO – Manchester evened its boys tennis record at 1-1 with a 4-1 win at Churubusco Monday night.
The Squires will host Peru in Three Rivers Conference play Thursday evening.

Warriors Rout Marines
HAMILTON – Carter Jones had a hat trick, Chris Pena scored twice and four other Wawasee boys soccer players scored goals in a 9-0 rout of the Hamilton Marines co-ed team Monday.
Jones and Pena also dished out a pair of assists each. Zeb Glon, Brady Wickersham, Hunter Magiera and Blaine Faught scored single goals for the Warriors.
Now 1-1-2, Wawasee will take on West Noble in Ligonier on Thursday.

Wildcat Soccer Falls
PERU – The Peru Tigers scored 12 minutes into its Three Rivers Conference boys soccer match, and it was enough to beat visiting Whitko 1-0 Monday night.
The Wildcats (0-3, 0-1 TRC) will host Rochester Thursday.

Valley Soccer Edged In TRC
AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley held a 3-1 halftime lead before falling 4-3 to Maconaquah in Three Rivers Conference boys soccer Monday.
Valley’s Manuel Dominguez scored the school’s first-ever official  goal at the 23-minute mark of the first half. Ivan Santiago found the back of the net two minutes later, and Alan Jimenez added a third goal with seven minutes left in the half.
Maconaquah rallied, with Hunter Klutz scoring his third goal of the game with 35 seconds remaining in the match.
Valley (0-2) will host the Wabash Club soccer team in a non-conference game this evening.

Lady Warriors Beat Goshen
GOSHEN – Wawasee senior Aubrey Schmeltz was the medalist, posting a 48 to lead the Lady Warriors golf team to a 210-250 Northern Lakes Conference win over Goshen Monday.
Madison Beaman posted a 50 for Wawasee, with Zoe White shooting 53. Jadison Rostochak and Lesley Tayagua each carded 59s.
Wawasee (7-3 overall, 1-0 NLC) will take on Plymouth and host Concord on Wednesday.

Whitko Falls At Wabash
WABASH – The Whitko girls golf team dropped a 242-252 decision at Wabash Monday evening.
Claire Reiff continued her run of being the low Whitko golfer by shooting a 57.  Makayla Compton shot a season-low 60, while Alexys Rider and Bailey Wright finished out the scoring with 65 and 70, respectively.
The girls next see action on Thursday against Tippecanoe Valley, Manchester and North Miami at Peru Municipal Golf Course.

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley’s volleyball team beat visiting Marion in three closely-contested sets, 25-22, 25-22, 27-25 Monday night.
Emily Peterson had 26 assists and two service aces for Valley. Makenzie Woodcox had seven kills, and Olivia Trippiedi had 11 digs for the Lady Vikings.
Valley also won the junior varsity match 25-7, 25-15.
The Lady Vikings host Winamac today.

Manchester Booster Golf Outing Scheduled
NORTH MANCHESTER – The 16th annual Manchester High School Athletic Booster Club’s golf outing will be held Sept. 11 at Sycamore Golf Club, with lunch at noon and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The tournament will have a 4-person Florida Scramble format.
The cost is $50 per player, and $35 for Sycamore members. There will be cash prizes for the first three places, plus proxy prizes.

Directions to Valley Game At Western
AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley Athletic Director Duane Burkhart said the best way for Viking fans to get to Friday’s game at Western is to go south on US 31, then turn right (heading west) on Southway Boulevard in Kokomo (Ruby Tuesday's is on the corner). Western is about 6 1/2 miles from 31 on the left. The field is behind the high school.
