Harold Jr. East, 88, Warsaw, was called home by his Lord at 6:50 p.m. Aug. 17, 2016, in his family’s Warsaw home.
He was born Jan. 30, 1928, in Warsaw, to Delbert and Glea Rider East. On June 28, 1980, in Mentone, he married Sheron K. Shafer, who survives in Warsaw.
A farmer all of his life and a foreman for Warsaw Plating Works, retiring in 1993 after more than 40 years
He was known by his friends and family as “old fart.”
He loved eating breakfast with his friends and the farmers at Teel’s Restaurant. He loved farming, gardening, working outside and mowing. Most of all, he loved his family.
Also surviving are one daughter, Connie (and spouse Jerry) Zolman, Mentone; four 4 step-daughters: Debbi Taylor, Misty Hall, and Christine Miller, all of Warsaw and Tracy Watkins, Silver Lake; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Geraldine East, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Glea East; one sister, Betty LeWallen; one son, Larry East and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday in Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Howard Immel, First Brethren Church, Warsaw, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling wil be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday in the funeral home.
