Banner Medical officials and community leaders celebrated the medical device supplier’s opening of its new facility in Warsaw Thursday.

The 43,000 square foot plant is the first to open in Warsaw's new Tech Park along Polk Drive on the city's north side.

The Illinois-based company announced plans a year ago to construct the facility.

The company currently employs about 14 people and will increase that to about 76 employees by 2019 as the company continues to ramp up its business activity at the new plant.

Representatives from the city of Warsaw, Kosciusko County, Greater Warsaw Chamber of Commerce as well as the Indiana Department of Economic Development and others gathered for a ribbon cutting and tours of the plant Thursday afternoon.
