Orthopedic supplier chooses Warsaw for new plant

August 17, 2016 at 8:03 p.m.

An Illinois-based medical device supplier will open its first operation in Indiana when it constructs a new facility in Warsaw – a move that will bring with it 76 new jobs.

Banner Medical will construct a state-of-the-art 43,000 square foot processing center at the Warsaw Tech Park along U.S. 30.

Construction will begin in September, according to Indiana Economic Development Corp., which issued a press release Wednesday afternoon.

Local and state leaders were quick to applaud the move.

"Banner Medical brings a reputation of innovation and advanced technology into our community,” said Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer. "Locating in the new Warsaw Technology Park gives Banner local access to over 30 of its existing customers, creating a synergy that can only be found in our community of advanced orthopedic manufacturing. We are excited to welcome Banner to Warsaw."

"When the world demands a medical device, Hoosiers supply,” said Gov. Mike Pence.

The company said they’ve already hired a few people in Indiana and are accepting applications online at [email protected].

Banner Medical was established in 2008 by its parent company, Banner Service Corporation of Carol Stream, Ill.

"Warsaw, Indiana is an integral part of our growth strategy and we look forward to further serving existing and potential new customers in the region through this facility," said Mark Redding, president and chief executive officer for Banner Service Corporation.
