Donna Jean Kolar, 94, passed away at 2 a.m. Aug. 13, 2016, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born Nov. 11, 1921, in Kosciusko County, to Idyl D. and Faye Leiter Hoffer. On June 30, 1945, in Iowa City, Iowa, she married Chester G. Kolar, who preceded her in death Aug. 19, 1984.
She is a 1939 graduate of Warsaw High School.
A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, she was employed over a period of 75 years as a legal secretary and financial secretary; and retired in 1992 as the financial secretary at First United Methodist Church, Warsaw.
She enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, reading music and playing bridge. She was a member of First United Methodist Church since she was 13 years of age, and was a member of the church choir for 40 years
Surviving are a son, Timothy (and spouse Sally) Kolar, Warsaw; two grandsons, Jon (and spouse Melisa) Tyler, Leesburg, and Tim (and spouse Shiela) Tyler, Aruba, Caribbean; four great-grandchildren, Luke, Lily, Rachel and Rebeka Tyler; a brother, Max Hoffer, Noblesville; two nieces, Janis (and spouse Stanley) Sutton and Kristine (and spouse Kim) Akers, all of Noblesville; and four nephews: Larry Hoffer, Leesburg; Dan, Paul and Ron Hoffer, all of Warsaw. She was preceded in death by her father, Idyl D. Hoffer, who died Nov. 7, 1971; her mother, Faye Hoffer, who died Nov. 25, 2002; her stepfather, Joe Stickler, who died Aug. 3, 1973; and her brother, Rex Hoffer, who died May 25, 1991.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with the Rev. Stanley Sutton officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
